World Outdoors is based in the South Downs National Park and run by a small team of outdoor enthusiasts. Started by Daniel Thomas (pictured left).
Spending most free weekends of his late-teens and twenties, trekking, mountain climbing and wild camping in remote regions (usually Wales) very often in winter, or extremely rainy periods, with no tent.
Adventuring in poor weather forced an increase in outdoor skills that summer simply cannot teach.
A love of outdoors and survival then saw him studying Bushcraft, including learning from the legendary Ray Mears, from whom he was awarded a distinction on a recent course. A grade which Ray himself remarked as being, 'Almost unattainable'.
Daniel then pioneered the 'Under-leg' adaptation for the bow-drill method of lighting fire-by-friction, which is quickly being adopted by military & civilian survival instructors from around the world, as an advance in the faster acquisition of this life saving skill.
''If you've never been wild-camping... You've never really been camping. Sorry..''
